Frequently Asked Questions

# 1. Who is eligible for Medicare?

A: Generally, all U.S. citizens and lawful resident aliens become eligible at age 65. Exceptions are numerous, but worth addressing with potential clients who think they might NOT be eligible. Call me with your questions! For example, some people get only Part A (hospitalization) because they didn't accrue enough quarters to earn Part B (medical = doctor's visits). Those people can still sign up for a Part D (prescription drug) plan, though.

# 2. "My neighbor is just 52, but he claims he's on Medicare. Is he lying to me?"

A: Probably not. Social Security Disability recipients generally are forced on to Medicare after 24 months of receiving monthly disability pension checks. Such disabled people can be of any age. In 2015 I signed up new clients aged 32, 34 and 38, for example, because they became disabled, unable to work and had been on S. S. Disability for 24 months or more. Do they also deserve Medicare? Certainly -- and a Medicare plan to augment their health care coverage. Remember: Medicare generally pays only about 80% of health care expenses, so a plan is NEEDED to help cover most of the other 20%.

# 3. "I can sign up for a Medicare plan online, over the phone or via the U.S. mail. Why should I meet with an agent in person? Won't that cost me more?"

A: No, your cost (if any!) is exactly the same regardless of how you sign up for the Medicare plan that makes the most sense for you. Consider this: to help you with such an important decision as health care coverage, don't you want a living, breathing human being who resides in your same locale? Someone who is accessible to you? At Medicare Plans Nevada, all of our agents reside in southern Nevada / Clark County. They are all willing to meet you and explain all of your Medicare options in as much detail as you require. This is a free consultation with no obligation. We live, work and play here, volunteer for charitable causes and are active in our community -- YOUR community. Health insurance companies pay us to sign up new members for their company's Medicare plans, and they continue to pay us to KEEP our loyal clients signed up with those plans. We go the extra mile for you, our loyal clients, because we CARE ABOUT YOU. Your loyalty is our livelihood!
